Hei, Purps, glad you're still around and let foreigners have a glimpse of your Arkansian (sp?) surroundings. I stay home today, short of a wisdom tooth.

Zeroday,
I'm afraid these frenchies are hopeless. As for me, I'm not able to hear the comedy, the sound is too low, with loudspeaker wide open.

Are there any here that are Catholic? If so I have a question.
by Irish Rose inwhen i was in the 6 grade, i went to school with a girl who was a catholic.
one day she brought to school her rosery beads.
being raised as a jw i had never before seen this thing.

OK, Cathy, got the point, but if you were in France I would say that you are a bit too charitable. It must depend on the area where you live and I'm pretty sure that over here that practice often borders between superstition and piety, the same way as some keep St Christopher medals in their cars.

Sorry Zeroday, I caught a nasty virus lately and I think it was due to opening a link. Is that possible btw ? I'm not much of a computer specialist

Those of you who remained religious after leaving JWs:
by Awakened07 ini was just curious how that transition was?
did you simply start attending some other church right away?
if so, how did you choose which church to attend?

I'm still a JW, nominally and sitting on the fence, out of lack of credible alternative. I know for sure that I won't join another denomination, due to some creed I still stick to that I won't find in other churches, but I don't know as yet if I will stay as an observing sceptic outsider (which I'm already more or less) or end up as an agnostic.

I've often seen rosaries hanging from the inner mirror in cars as talismans. Sheer superstition, just all the way around.

That's life, bye WAC, we'll be happy to see you drop a word occasionally. I wish you good success, CREATE VALUE as they say now, but mind, no greed, we were reminded yesterday

As a nominal JW, I regret to say that we are getting to the sensitive period of the year where we'll have fund raising articles in the WT about every month until december. In France, as about in any country I suppose, donations to religious registered organizations (Association cultuelle des TJ de France is one, overhere) are deductible from taxable income. This week article is paving the way for the next one which is quite graphic in this respect.

In Mark Twain's Eve's diary, Eve really gets bored in Eden because Adam is a loner and her irrupting in his life is a disturbance to him, he's rude. Only after they've been kicked out of Eden does he come to appreciate her and he had this carved at her grave "Wheresoever she was, there was Eden".

A big hug from France, Grace. I'm not sure I can do anything but certainly you have Ontario JWD good friends around who take care of you. With love, Aligot
